Abstract:

This amendment establishes equipment requirements to improve cabin fire protection for passenger-carrying transport category airplanes operated under Part 121. This amendment requires that each lavatory be equipped with a smoke detector system, or equivalent, which provides warning to the cockpit or to the passenger cabin crew.
