These amendments to Parts 25, 29, 37, 91, 121, and 135 of the Federal Aviation Regulations implement section 31 of Public Law 91-596, achieve uniformity in the terminology used therein, and update requirements and standards for the manufacture, installation, airworthiness, and operation of emergency locator transmitters required on airplanes operated in air commerce.
