Abstract:

This amendment establishes a new termination date for Special Federal Aviation Regulation [SFAR] No. 38-2 [50 FR 23941; June 7, 1985]. SFAR 38-2 was reinstated by SFAR 38-4 [52 FR 28938; August 4, 1987] and was amended to extend its termination date to allow time for the FAA, in a separate rulemaking action, to prepare a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) [Notice No. 88-16; 53 FR 39852; October 12, 1988] to consolidate the certification rules now in SFAR 38-2, Part 121, and Part 135 into a new Part 119 of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR).
