Abstract:

This action revises the procedures for operation of aircraft in the airspace above the Grand Canyon up to an altitude of 9,000 feet above mean sea level (MSL), and extends the duration of those procedures to June 15, 1992. In recent years, the high volume of air traffic over the park has increased the risk of midair collision. The overflights also generated noise impacts on park surface areas to a degree which may be inconsistent with Federal policies for operation of the park.
