Abstract:Document which discusses the issues for vertical clearance on the interstate rods which were standardize to 14 feet according to the American Association of State Highway Officials (AASHO). It presents why this did not meet some requirements for the Department of Defense and resulted in revisions occurring to the standard. The document discusses this controversy, the implementation of the revision, and the effects it had.
