The Rambler offers a brief history of the development of Central Park as a place of refuge from the congestion and noise of 19th century New York City. The Rambler then details the early uses of and restrictions placed upon carriages, bicycles, and automobiles in Central Park, as well as the history of how those restrictions came into place.
