Abstract:This report documents work performed under the Federal Transit Administration's Advanced Public Transportation Systems (APTS) Program, a program structured to undertake research and development of innovative applications of advanced navigation, information, and communication technologies that most benefit public transportation. This report is a compilation of existing and planned deployments of APTS technologies and services. The information was collected during the Summer and Fall of 2000 and was obtained through contacts with persons at each transit agency. A total of 576 agencies were surveyed for this study. Only those agencies with existing or planned APTS systems are included in this report. See also PB99-118366. Sponsored by Federal Transit Administration, Washington, DC.
