Abstract:This report documents work performed under the Federal Transit Administration's Advanced Public Transportation Systems (APTS) Program, a program structured to undertake research and development of innovative applications of advanced navigation, information, and communication technologies that most benefit public transportation. This report is a compilation of existing and planned deployments of APTS technologies and services. The information was gathered during the Summer and Fall of 2002 and was provided primarily via the Internet by persons at each transit agency. A total of 549 agencies provided information for this study. Only those agencies with existing or planned APTS systems are included in this report.
