This report is a summary of DOT activity associated with the administration of the Pipeline Safety Act of 1979 for calendar year 1980. The report includes the year's highlights, and detailed coverage of gas and liquid pipeline failures and casualties, regulatory activity, compliance activity, federal/state cooperation and the grant-in-aid program, research studies, dissemination of pipeline safety information, a summary of outstanding problems, a listing of waivers granted under the act, and a report of activity related to the construction of the Alaska Natural Gas Transportation System.
