  This control set document identifies security controls typically needed to mitigate security risks to dynamic message signs (DMS) operating in the role of intelligent transportation systems roadway equipment described by the Traffic Information Dissemination service package in the Architecture Reference for Cooperative and Intelligent Transportation (ARC-IT) TM06. The objective of this control set is to provide a means to better protect DMS and the information flows supported by its interfaces as more advanced features are added. he controls (primarily technical controls) relevant to DMS are specified in this control set document. Security controls are safeguards or countermeasures prescribed for a system or an organization to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the system and its information.
