  This control set document identifies security controls typically needed to mitigate security risks to roadside units (RSUs) operating in the role of connected vehicle roadside equipment described in the Architecture Reference for Cooperative and Intelligent Transportation (ARC-IT). The objective of this control set is to provide a means to better protect RSUs and the information flows supported by their interfaces as more advanced features are added. The controls (primarily technical controls) relevant to RSUs are specified in this control set document. Security controls are safeguards or countermeasures prescribed for a system or an organization to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the system and its information.
