Abstract:UHPC is an advanced construction material characterized by exceptional compressive strength, enhanced tensile properties, and superior durability. Where prestressed concrete girders are used in New Mexico’s bridge infrastructure, integrating UHPC offers a cost-effective and sustainable solution to enhance structural strength, longevity, and resilience. This report synthesizes a comprehensive feasibility analysis of UHPC for prestressed concrete bridge applications in New Mexico, spanning fifteen years of research from 2009 to 2024. The study began with an extensive literature review to understand UHPC’s material properties and concluded with the application of UHPC as an overlay material for an existing concrete bridge. The report examines both the feasibility and limitations of UHPC use within the state, analyzing findings from all five phases of research.
