Abstract:As technologies advance, emerging urban data are increasingly available for wide urban areas, which are referred to as Urban Hybrid Traffic Data (U-HTD) in this report. U-HTD provides great opportunities for urban transportation/traffic system performance evaluation, modeling, and management. It also poses great challenges in data collection, processing, storage, and use, including data privacy and security issues. This research investigates the issues of applying U-HTD for urban traffic modeling, including (i) fusion methods of mobile and fixed data, (ii) freight transportation modeling using multiple sources of data, and (iii) a new econometric method for analyzing interaction behavior data.
