Abstract:The goal of this project is to provide statistical inference for the community’s willingness to pay for improvements in the resiliency to extreme events of the transportation system in New York City. This objective seeks to provide better tools for better informing planning investments to improve both resilience and security of transportation infrastructure and services. A fundamental, specific goal is to collect microdata using a choice-experiment specifically designed for this project. The population of interest for this study is those coastal communities in the NYC area facing increased risks of flood damage.
