Abstract:

Iowa Department of Transportation Research and Technology Bureau video presentation from the 2009 human factors and roadway safety workshop session titled: Context and Objectives ; Mark Lowe, director, Iowa DOT Motor Vehicle Division, speaks on the diversity of perspectives related to transportation safety and the relationship between distracted drivers and safety. Highway safety issues affect many aspects social well-being. For example, those involved in crashes are more likely to lose opportunities they once had for productive and healthy lives; fatalities affect numerous family and social relationships.
