This synthesis report presents a brief synopsis of the current literature and technologies being used in the development of safer and more secure bus stops. While the focus is more specifically with regard to vulnerable populations - women, children, senior citizens, and the disabled - improvements related to the safety and security of bus stops may be of benefit to all transit users, potential users, the community at large, and the transit industry in general.
