Abstract:

This report defines an Intelligent Transportation Systems/Commercial Vehicle Operations (ITS/CVO) program for the State of South Dakota. Structured as a business plan, the document includes the following components: 1) description of the current CVO environment in South Dakota; 2) a mission, guiding principles, goals, and objectives for the ITS/CVO program; 3) a coordinated program of ITS/CVO projects that address state and motor carrier goals and, 4) an organization and management framework for accomplishing the ITS/CVO program.
