Sixteen hot mix asphalt designs placed during 1992 in Colorado were tested with the standard CDOT test methods, the French rutting tester, the Hamburg wheel-tracking device, and the Georgia loaded-wheel tester. Hot mix asphalt was designed with the Texas gyratory compactor. These mixtures are very resistant to rutting. Some improvements need to be made to the mixtures to resist moisture damage.
