The purpose of this document is to identify various software reliability models, define the interface between a software reliability model with a fault tolerant system reliability model, and provide a software dependability model (capable of evaluating availability, reliability, and safety) that can predict the reliability of software prior to and throughout its development. The software reliability data and development of a software reliability database is also discussed.
