Abstract:

This report presents the results of a series of interviews taken with 17 pilots who had experience with either the Automatic Traffic Advisory and Resolution Service (ATARS) or the Cockpit Display of Traffic Information (COT!) flight testing. The purpose of this study was to determine what the pilots considered to be the salient features of a traffic situation display.
