Abstract:

Rubblization is defined as the process of fracturing existing concrete pavement in-place into smaller interconnected pieces. Rubblization breaks the slab action and minimizes or prevents the occurrence of reflective cracks in the asphalt concrete overlay. This is the first study conducted on the full-scale accelerated pavement testing of rubblized concrete pavements with hot-mix asphalt overlay under heavy aircraft loading.
