Abstract:Speeches from 1941 through 1944 by Admiral Emory S. Land, Chairman of the U.S. Maritime Commission. Following a distinguished naval career, Land emerged from retirement on February 18, 1938, to chair the U.S. Maritime Commission. In this role, he directed the design and production of over 4,000 Liberty and Victory ships utilized during World War II, while simultaneously serving as Administrator of the War Shipping Administration (WSA).
