Abstract:This presentation examines the Pacific Northwest Rail Corridor as a regional passenger rail initiative built through partnerships among public agencies, rail operators, and private stakeholders. It highlights continued Amtrak Cascades ridership growth, strong customer satisfaction, and ongoing capital improvements across multiple corridor segments. The presentation also identifies King Street Station as a critical redevelopment and capacity issue shaped by legal, historic, and operational constraints. Overall, it argues that continued corridor expansion depends on coordinated investment, institutional cooperation, and sustained public funding.
