Abstract:ODOT seeks to reduce the number of risky drivers on the road through driver improvement programs, but the efficacy of these programs are rarely assessed. This report details the methodology for creating a linked database combining driver, verdict, accident, and crash data from ODOT to evaluate program performance and trends in risky driver behaviors. The linked database was used to generate visualizations of citation and crash data between the years 1995-2024, which were used to identify demographic trends and shifts in administrative procedures. In addition to visualization, several models were built to predict the probability of different crash types based on a variety of demographic factors. These models can help identify which groups are the most likely to engage in risky driving, knowledge which can tailor future intervention strategies.
