Abstract:

This research project investigates the implementation of advanced vehicle and pedestrian detection technologies to enhance traffic signal operations and safety across high-volume corridors. The primary objectives include improving signal timing, pedestrian crossing efficiency, and truck flow during free-flow conditions. A phased deployment introduced cutting-edge sensors and radar systems, including Bluetooth travel time sensors and Wavetronix Advanced 200-E units, to collect real-time data and optimize traffic management.
