  In this report, a detailed description is made of the established procedures to design shallow foundations on the basis of pre-boring pressuremeter tests. Both the bearing capacity and settlement calculations are outlined in the form of step-by-step procedures. Design examples are given and solved. An indication of the precision of the methods is presented by comparing the predicted behavior to the measured behavior for over 50 case histories.
