  • Abstract:
This Call to Action to Support Mariner Mental Health documents steps that federal agencies will take to improve mariner mental health, including tangible actions for removing stigma, creating psychological safety, building trust and providing resilience training. The CMTS invites maritime workers and employers, unions, non-governmental and other maritime organizations to join the federal government to actively engage in promoting mariner mental health and addressing occupational health concerns affecting our mariners. We understand the level of difficulty employers, unions, and industry face in working to change the culture around mental health, however it is crucial for our national and economic security to protect mariner health and well-being. We must work together to create a better working environment for all.
