Abstract:

The Alfaro engine built for the Bureau of Air Commerce (now Civil Aeronautics Authority) by Aircraft Development, Inc., Boston, Massachusetts, passed its contract two hour acceptance test on May 16, 1938. This engine was developed to its present stage with the assistance of the Bureau in an attempt to promote a more efficient power plant for commercial aircraft.
