• Abstract:
  In 2022 there were 1,105 pedalcyclist fatalities, accounting for 2.6 percent of all traffic fatalities. In 2022 there was a 13-percent increase in pedalcyclists killed (1,105) from the 976 pedalcyclists killed in 2021. In 2022 an estimated 46,195 pedalcyclists were injured, an 11-percent increase from 41,615 pedalcyclists injured in 2021. In 2022 there were an estimated 46,195 pedalcyclists injured, accounting for 1.9 percent of all people injured in traffic crashes. This fact sheet for 2022 covers the following: age and sex; alcohol; crash characteristics; time of day and day of week; vehicle type and impact point; and data by state and city.
