Information and Metadata Architect Andy Everett with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) presents this webinar. Everett describes how WSDOT developed an information strategy, goals for data management, and the metadata repository. The process of creating WSDOT’s metadata repository involved developing a core metadata schema and extending it by developing a reference and open data schema. WSDOT developed taxonomies and controlled vocabularies to support this initiative. The goal is to manage WSDOT language to help people predictably find trusted information, in support of business decision making and, through connectedness, foster collaboration and common understanding.
