Anders Johnson, Librarian for the Research Program/Business Solutions Office at the Montana Department of Transportation, speaks about engaging with the Name Authority Cooperative Program (NACO). Library catalogs help users find, identify, select, and obtain library resources. In response, librarians provide authority control to maintain consistency in the headings (names, uniform titles, series titles, and subjects) used. Johnson discusses why name disambiguation is important in library catalogs and the practice of creating name authority records as part of the Montana NACO funnel.
