The overall research objective is to focus on developing UAV-based inspection and analysis protocols using infrared (IR) thermal imaging to determine the existence and extent of concrete delamination, with emphasis on the underside of bridge decks. The research was implemented through 5 tasks: 1. Desk scan of infrared thermal imaging and unmanned aerial vehicle technologies 2. Field demonstration including analysis, reporting, and delamination cross check with traditional methods 3. Development of inspection and analysis protocols 4. Draft final report and Technology Transfer Strategy and Toolbox 5. Final Report.
