Abstract:The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) does its best to minimize traffic disruptions when repairing high-traffic roadways by limiting lane closures to off-peak (overnight) hours. WisDOT typically employs rapid-setting concrete or asphalt concrete, rather than conventional cementitious strategies, to meet the demands of these six-to-eight-hour windows of opportunity; however, it has been difficult to achieve consistent, durable results.
