Abstract:The Partnership for Air Transportation Noise and Emissions Reduction (PARTNER), an FAA/NASA/Transport Canada-sponsored Center of Excellence, initiated a three-year project to study land use and noise complaint patterns for a set of selected airports. The project was undertaken in an effort to better understand the dynamics of land use management, public concerns, and annoyance related to air traffic. The main goal of the project was to act as a neutral party investigating the opinions and dynamics of all impacted by land use planning.
