This Directory contains brief descriptions of Technical Assistance and Safety Projects initiated during Fiscal Year 1991 by the Office of Technical Assistance and Safety (TTS), Federal Transit Administration (FTA) of the U. S. Department of Transportation. Its purpose is to inform the public and especially the transit industry of the nature and scope of work underway to assist State and local agencies in improving services and reducing the cost of public transit. Under the Technical Assistance and Safety Program, assistance is provided to a broad range of disciplines, including Advanced Public Transportation Systems (APTS), Clean Air, Finance, Human Resource and Productivity, Information, Regional Mobility, Safety and Security, Technology Development, and Transit Accessibility.
