The general objective of this study is to provide a descriptive analysis of the subterminal/satellite form of organization and an evaluation of the advantages and disadvantages of reorganizing local country elevators into this type of system. Specific objectives are: 1. To determine from a cooperative management viewpoint an overview of subterminal/satellite organization and operations, and the advantages and disadvantages of a subterminal/satellite cooperative organization. 2. To identify changes which can be expected to take place at the local country elevator after cooperative merger regarding grain handling and service to cooperative patrons. 3. To identify patron attitudes toward this new form of cooperative organization regarding grain handling and service.
