  The 1999 Illinois Travel Statistics publication is assembled to provide detailed traffic ; information to the different users of traffic data. While most users of traffic data at this ; level of detail are within the Illinois Department of Transportation, this publication is ; distributed outside the Department. The 1999 Illinois Travel Statistics publication ; contains information previously included in the Traffic Characteristics on Illinois ; Highway, which will no longer be published. Annual average daily traffic volumes (AADT) and vehicle miles of travel (VMT) are products of the IDOT’s Traffic Count program. Counts from this program range in duration from data continuously recorded at permanent count stations to thousands of coverage count locations that are counted for a 24-hour period during the year.
