Abstract:The Federal Aviation Administration's Office of Environment and Energy, with the assistance of the Acoustics Facility at the United States Department of Transportation's John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center is conducting research in support of the National Parks Overflight Rule (National Rule). The foundation of the research program for the National Rule is the performance of noise dose/visitor response (dose-response) studies in several National Parks. This document summarizes the results of a dose-response study conducted along two separate segments of a front country, short-hike trail at Bryce Canyon National Park during the period August 19 through 27, 1997.
