The purpose of this text is to provide highway personnel with a working knowledge of concrete polymer development and application. Basic information necessary to begin experimental application of these materials is presented. The text presents discussions on the following: (1) a review of concrete-polymer materials development, (2) knowledge of polymer chemistry as applied to concrete-polymer materials, (3) knowledge of the technology required to produce concrete-polymer materials, (4) a description of the fundamental characteristics and properties of the composites, and (5) an in-depth study of the applications of concrete-polymer materials.
