• Abstract:
  This volume consists of transit profiles for each of the top thirty transit agencies filing a National Transit Database Report for the 2000 Report Year (January 1 through December 31, 2000). These agencies were selected based on operating funds expended. Each profile consists of general, financial, and modal data, as well as performance and trend indicators for the year. For the 2000 Report Year, 592 transit agencies submitted reports to the National Transit Database. Of these, 67 received waivers from detailed reporting because they operated nine or fewer vehicles across all modes of service. Another 7 were excluded after extensive review and validation raised questions concerning the data submitted. Consequently, 518 transit agencies compose the full database for the 2000 Report Year. The transit profiles in this document are listed numerically by NTD ID number. Transit agencies are listed by their legal name as reported to the National Transit Database Program and include their acronym, if known.
