Abstract:

The transportation research programs at the Kansas and Missouri Departments of Transportation (KDOT, MODOT) hosted a peer exchange to discuss improving the quality and timeliness of research reports. This report documents the discussions, outcomes, and takeaways of the peer exchange participants. The peer exchange participants included staff members from research programs in the DOTs from Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, Utah, and Wisconsin. Other guest participants included the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Transportation Research Board (TRB), Kansas State University, University of Kansas, and University of Missouri.
