• Abstract:
  This report outlines research that examines the market for Advanced Traveler Information Systems (ATIS). The report includes detailed descriptions of Pathfinder, TravTek, and SmarTraveler ATIS operational tests. It includes basic background information and an assessment of market information which has been or will be collected. It also provides a brief description of five operational tests that are in the planning stages. The report also outlines market-related research projects that are underway or have recently been completed at universities and government transportation research labs. Work-in- progress is briefly described. Descriptions of recently completed research include an outline of the research, a brief summary of results, and citations referring the reader to where the work was published.
