As a repository, ROSA P retains documents in their original published format to ensure public access to scientific information.
This guide was created at the request of the California Department of Transportation?s Native American Advisory Committee. It is meant as a tool to explain the requirements of transportation planning and funding, with an orientation towards federally recognized tribal governments. Chapter 1 introduces the agencies involved at the federal and state level. Chapter 2 gives an overview of Native American tribal interaction with transportation planning. Chapter 3 looks at transportation financing. Chapter 4 looks at transportation planning and implementation in California. Chapter 5 reviews local and tribal developments. Chapter 6 looks at Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO) and civil rights issues.
