Although great strides have been made in reducing the number of Louisiana highway crashes in

recent years, the state still ranks worse than the national average in all highway traﬃ c fatality rate

measures. To further enhance roadway safety, eﬀ orts must be continuously made to ﬁ nd the best

and most eﬀ ective crash countermeasures for the state’s roads.
