Abstract:This Final Environiimtal Impact Statement (EIS) documents the environmental inpacts of and responds to substantive ccmnents received on the Draft EIS for a section of the North Line of Atlanta's rapid transit system. Two alternatives were examined in detail for this section known as the Lindbergh/Piedmont Segment. The first alternative known as the Referendum Alternative, consists of an alignn^t with two stations within established residential neighborhoods. The Referendum Alignment ' s environmental impacts were originally documented in the 1973 UtHA approved systemwide Final EIS. The other alternative, the Ambassador Apartment Alternative consists of the consolidation of the two stations into a single Lindbergh Center Station and the consequent changes to the track alignment. The Lindbergh Center Station is proposed to be located at the center of a con- mercial area away from established residential neighborhoods.
