The system ; used both thermal infrared (IR) and ; visible/near-infrared (NIR) imaging to ; detect, identify, and evaluate potential ; obstacles such as cars and people while ; ignoring inconsequential objects such as ; blowing paper, shadows, and smaller ; animals.
