Abstract:

This report documents the research project “AHMCT IRIS Technical Support and Testing,”

performed under contract 65A0275, Task ID 1777. It presents an overview of the Intelligent

Roadway Information System (IRIS), and its design and function. IRIS has provided ATMS

capabilities to Caltrans’ rural districts. IRIS is currently deployed in District 10, and near

deployment in Districts 1, 2, and 5.
