Abstract:

Buffalo, NY formally adopted a local Complete Streets ordinance in 2008; however, implementation has yet

to become institutionalized. Buffalo’s Complete Streets Coalition, a multi-sector partnership was convened

to implement a Summit and Neighborhood Outreach Campaign to educate citizens and policy-makers in

order to re-orient transportation planning and programs to improve community quality of life, enhance

environmental performance, and increase transportation and housing choices while lowering costs and

supporting economic vitality.
