Abstract:

Asphaltic pavements in Virginia had shown cracks in the surface layers only, and this had led to the belief that the durability properties of the asphalt had not been what they should have been and that the asphalt specifications needed to be revised. Recommendations from the study were incorporated in Department specifications.
