    The Bicycle and Pedestrian Element of the Long-Range Transportation Plan aims to position Tennessee as one of the most progressive states for bicycling and walking for the next 25 years. This Plan provides a clear directive that emphasizes the continual development of transportation facilities that accommodate bicyclists and pedestrians, new policies, procedures and programs, and the development of eight new state bicycle routes.
